(tons of photo's in this post, just warning you)
(will you still love me when I am THIS big?)
HALF WAY!
week 20 / month 5
I seriously am so excited to be half way through this pregnancy. I am just so excited to be a mama, and hold my precious baby. On the other hand I have a lot of things to do in preparation for this baby. I am feeling pretty good, other than my tailbone but I think I am just use to the achy soreness now. I have gotten a few prenatal massages and had a chiropractor adjustment. They helped with my back and neck but not my tailbone. Maybe over time it'll help, crossing my fingers!
I haven't been asked by very many customers at work if I am pregnant, but I do catch them staring at my belly. I guess you could still mistake my belly as weight gain instead of pregnancy, sadly. I am not telling any customers I am pregnant, I am just waiting for them to ask. I help 200+ customers a day and the longer I can hold off on answering the same questions over and over and over again the better. If you are pregnant or have been pregnant you know the questions. What are you having? Whats your due date? How far along are you? etc.... I love answering them now, but I can only imagine what it'll be like when I have to answer them every few minute or so.
At church there are two couples with babies due before me and two couple with babies due after me. It is pretty awesome knowing there will be four other babies to grow up with my little one.
Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)
He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

week 18 photo's
They are in reverse order from the order they were taken. We found ourselves in come pouring rain so that is why my hair looks different and darker from each location.
