another perfect day! (lots of photos)

Today was awesome. The sun was out again, and it felt like spring...yeah in January. Weird. This morning I went to work like usual and didn't think much about going snowboarding. I was kind of tired and had a bunch of stuff that needed to be done. So I was going to take the day to cross off a few things on my to-do list. But, I realized my mom and sister get here on Monday, and since I don't like to go up to the mountain on the weekend, I figured I had to go today since I wont be going for a little while. Good thing I did cause it was so beautiful up there. I actually took more than one picture. Ha, one funny thing happen to be today. At work I ripped the crotch of my pants. Luckily I live close to work so I was able to drive home and change.

Beauty up on the hill..
Today the sun was out again! Yay!
Eaglecrest was open today, so to enjoy the sunshine I went up and was able to take 6 runs after work. It was beautiful, I was enjoying myself so much I didn't take any photo's except the one above right when I was leaving. The snow is pretty good right now, reminds me of spring time snow. Its like frozen corn, thats the best way to explain it. It makes for some good turns, although it was pretty hard on the groomed areas. I noticed today my legs are super out of shape. I notice myself getting pretty wiped out early. Which is lame, so some lunges and wall sit are in order for me. Well, I hope you all had a wonderful day like I did!

Reminded of why I love Alaska

In the post below I said how I was in a funk. Well, after I wrote that I made it my mission to get myself out of it, and successfully did. I called my Pops up and requested his company in a walk. It was a beautiful day! First day the sun's been out in a while. So we took my dog, Jack, out to the typical spot. The Airport Dike Trail. It was covered in ice, but we persevered through it and was able to enjoy the beauty southeast Alaska has to offer us. It was right around sunset, so as we were heading back to the car I was able to snap a few great photo's of the beauty my pops, Jack and I shared on our walk. So here they are now for you to enjoy! I love this place.

I know the photo's are painfully similar but they were all just so beautiful I couldn't help but share all of them!
Below is a picture of what my drive way recently looked like. Thankfully it doesn't anymore.

in a Funk.

Lately Iv found myself in this icky funk. I'm just finding it super hard to be motivated and positive. I think I'm bored of my same old same old schedule I feel like I do the same thing every day, day after day. Boo, I hate feeling this way.
Anyway on a lighter note Dan got me these AWESOME vintage Pyrex cinderella bowls for a surprise gift. They will go great in my kitchen since the colors I'm running with in there are red and yellow! Thanks Dan!

I took little Jack for a stroll by Twin Lakes today and snapped a few photo's.

where are you when I need you?

Heavenly run out
Its been so amazingly beautiful out lately, which I love. I love sunshine, who doesn't. But when the sunshine gets in the way of snow falling on the ground to fulfill my deep desires to snowboard all winter. Sunshine isn't my friend. In the last month and a week it has snowed 4 inches with a bunch of melt freeze cycles in between, at the mountain.
I was so excited when it was snowing beautiful light fluffy snow in November. I thought it meant good things for this winter. I earned some turns in November, before the area opened, by hiking my butt up the mountain a handful of times (a past post about this). But since they've been open (Dec 5) I haven't gone up once. Sad to say, but the conditions have been very poor. I don't like to snowboard on concrete. So I'm begging, PLEASE SNOW.

Tomorrow is my sister in-law Hannah's birthday!
Since marrying I have added lot more important birthdays to my calender. Hannah's is the first one of the year, then there is one almost every month after that. I love having so many people to find, buy or create cute little gifts for. One of my favorite things about gift giving, is the wrapping part. I love wrapping gifts and making them look just as cute as the gift is.

its painted.

It only took two shades of blue to find the one I wanted. But I am pretty satisfied with this shade. I am thinking of painting the inside, behind the glass doors, white.
