14 weeks

 At 14 weeks Ruby is...
enjoying tummy time more
sucking on her fist all the time
kicking her legs like crazy
smiling really big at everyone
doing little giggles
napping without me holding her
holding her head up really well
standing (with assistance for balance)
needing to be swaddled still
loving her elephant mobile that is above her changing table
reaching for her toys, her favorite is Olivia the Owl (I am guessing its all the crinkle paper)
enjoying checking herself out in the mirror
not enjoying bath time right now
talking my ear off
loving the warmer weather!

Happy Easter!

 Romans 1:4-5
And Jesus Christ our Lord was shown to be the Son of God when God powerfully raised him from the dead by means of the Holy Spirit. Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.
1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...
Thank you, Jesus, for the sacrifice you made for each and every one of us.
-The Ewing Family
Take a moment to watch the below video, its pretty awesome.  Our pastor shared it with our fellowship today and it brought tears to my eyes, we are so lucky to have Jesus in our lives.

still unsure of what color her eyes will be

Play dates

My little girl is growing with some serious cuteness, each day I wake up and look at her she has gotten cuter!  Here she is at 3 months as of this past Wednesday!
Ruby (3 months old)
In our church fellowship there has been lots of babies born and a few more to be born, Im pretty sure I have mentioned this here before.  Anyway, each week we have a mommy get together at my sister-in-laws house.  We all just bring our babies and hang out, its always a pretty good time!
Ruby and her cousin Felix, they are 2 days shy of being exactly 2 years apart, they love each other a lot.
Robin (2 months old)

Owen (5 months old)

Eleanor (12 days old)
In other news Ruby had some shots yesterday and they gave her a 102.5 fever, poor thing.  Its heartbreaking seeing you baby suffer from a fever.   She kept doing the "I'm falling" reflex and screaming even though I was holding her.  I have given her Tylenol and am nursing her frequently to bring her fever down!

Night Time Light Show

A while ago Dan found this funky light thing at the thrift store; last night we turned it on and did a little light show for Ruby before she went to sleep.  She loved it!

Best cookie's ever!

Peanut butter no-bake cookie!

I took the usual no-bake cookie recipe and changed it up a bit and they turned out AMAZING!

1/2 cup Butter
2 cups Sugar
1/2 cup Milk

Put the three ingredients above in a pot, bring to a rolling boil, boil for 3 minutes while stirring.  After the 3 minutes stir in:

3 1/2 cups quick oats
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
2 teaspoons Vanilla extract

then plop onto wax paper and let cool!

(no post is complete without a picture or two of Ruby!)

For years I have been on a constant look out for BIG glasses.  Not because they were in style but simply because I get tunnel vision wearing small glasses.  Lucky for me, big glasses are the in thing right now so they are very available and you can find them for super cheap.  I ordered a couple pairs and they came in today!  I look super nerdy but I can see without bad tunnel vision which is really exciting.  This is only one pair because I made a mistake while entering my prescription for the other pair.  I have to get them fixed before I can wear them, which is lame cause I like them more.
