week 10

With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will too.)
This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in baby's body rapidly grow and mature.
Baby is swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.
If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.
In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. The hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over the heart, and the feet may be long enough to meet in front of the body. The outline of the spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from the spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with the developing brain and sits very high on the head, which measures half the length of the body. From crown to rump, baby's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

I am super excited to be nearing my second trimester, where I hear morning sickness and fatigue start coming to an end. I have been pretty sick lately, luckily it has been hitting me later in the day so I am not having to deal with it at work. Sometimes it comes so suddenly that I can't make it to the bathroom and have to find somewhere to throw up quickly (kitchen sink, garbage can etc..) I seriously can't wait for this part to be OVER. The fatigue is getting better but is still very present. I am only letting myself take one to two hour naps instead of the normal three to four. My belly is sticking out some, but not a lot. Not like pregnant looking, just getting fatter looking! I am sure it is a mixture of the two. With my super low energy I haven't been getting out as much as I should, which is another reason I am excited for the second trimester. I actually had a dream about moving into my second trimester a little while ago. It was fantastic, in the dream it happen fast. It was like I woke up the day of my second trimester and I felt AWESOME no sickness, no fatigue. I hope that dream comes true!
