Ha ha - I live in Austin (a suburb) right now, and I'd love to move. :-) It's a nice enough place, but I want to move somewhere with more moderate temperatures - here, we have two seasons - hot & humid, and slightly less hot, with occasional frozen humidity. (We lovingly refer to our seasons as Summer and Fwing - fallwinterspring all rolled into one.)
That is so funny because half of these places are places I've wanted to live too! Portland is really so beautiful, it's just the cold that would drive me nuts (of course I feel silly saying that seeing as you're in Alaska)

Ha, been to Austin then happily left. He we have pre-winter and winter. LOL
