week 24

week 24
Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
I put the wrong picture up last week
Your baby has caught up with an ear of corn in size and gained about 1/4 pound since last week. (Length: almost a foot.)
I am getting asked more frequently about being pregnant now.  Its kind of nice being asked instead of just looked at.  My muscles above and below my belly ache a lot these days from all the growing the little bean has been doing.  I am guess because the little bean is bigger I am feeling it move like crazy.  I can see it moving sometimes too, which is pretty awesome.  It has been keeping me up at night, though.  I also think I have entered the "nesting" stage.  I lay awake at night feeling my baby move and obsessing over changes I want to make to my house.  I currently want to change something about every room in my house and I currently hate two items of furniture.
I have been getting more and more baby items in the mail lately and its relieving knowing I have them.  I have been trying to organize it all in the corner of, what is supposed to be, the babies room.

I am with you on the nesting... I feel the need to decorate everything. Funny how God programs momma's like that. : )
