Freecycle. I love freecycle. Recently I snagged this 1940's secretary desk off there. I'm pretty stoked on it. I plan to spice it up a bit by painting it. Ill post pictures of it when I am done.
Thrift stores. I love thrift stores. I got a bunch on vintage buttons at the thrift store the other day. Which is funny cause a day or two before I found these AMAZING buttons at the thrift store, I was thinking about how sadly pathetic my button collection had become. Here's some pictures.
These are a few of my favorite out of the bunch.

A new tradition?
This year, instead of wasting a bunch of money on things no one wanted, we did THIS instead. Maybe it'll be our new Christmas tradition.

All gussied up for Christmas
We don't have a tree, but I have decorated for Christmas, a little. I'd like to get some tree branches and put them in a vase and hang Christmas lights off it. But considering it is the night before Christmas Eve, I doubt it'll happen. So these little things will have to do. Christmas Tree Garland, made from felt.
I hope everyone out there has a blessed Christmas.
10 things I love....
about my husband. I found this idea on a website, here, and just thought it was the sweetest thing. So I decided to make one for Dan for Christmas. It was fun coming up with the 10 things, I did use some from the idea on the website but they are things I truly love about Dan. Anyway, I spent hours making it and when I was finished I was to excited to wait for Christmas, so I caved in and gave it to him early. ha.

Winter Solstice

I love this time of year!
The peacefulness of the snow is just so amazing. I love it. Not to mention all the quilt free laziness that accompanies that peaceful snow.
I have been spending a lot of time indoors this month. Occupying my time with some crafty things. I made various garland with yarn and felt. I also made a wreath (picture below) which I'm pretty proud of. Considering it was a tedious time consuming job that I actually finished.
Sadly it hasn't been snowing much this month. Its either been raining or just plain COLD. Although it has snowed the past two days, but its this very strange teeny tiny little balls of snow, almost like hail but softer. I need some light fluffy snow.

My pops turned 60
on the 27th! Dan and I had him over to open gifts. I made him a birthday shirt that was mandatory for him to wear out to our planned evening events. So after gifts we took him out to Troxels, a new steak house in town that it delicious and fairly priced. After dinner we went to the movie 2012, birthday boy pick. Its was a good night and my pop said he had a really great time! I love him!
One bonus of turning 60, on Thursday nights he can now eat off of the senior menu at the Broiler. ha.

Today was a beautiful day
on the mountain. I have hiked up a handful of times this weekend and have earned some pretty sick turns. Some of the nicest I have had. Its nice to enjoy the area without a ton of people there. Although the mountain is getting pretty tracked up and sloppy. Some wind and snow would be welcome up there to make things better. It'll happen though! They are planning to open a week earlier than originally planned. I heard a rumor it was only for weekends until December 18thm if that is the case I will be greatly disappointed. I only bought a weekday seasons pass. It cost me nearly $400 for that and if they only open for weekends until December 18th, well, that means I am getting screwed out of a pretty good amount of days. I hope it all works out.
These are some pictures I managed to capture with my iPhone camera, on the mountain today!
