week 7, 8 and other things

 week 7

 week 8

Imogen had a nasty cold for about a week and a half and she is seems to finally be over it!  While she had her cold she just went back to sleeping all the time.  Its nice to finally have her being awake for a couple stretches a day, I'm finally getting to see more of her sweet personality.  One thing I have noticed is she loves when spoken to in a high pitched voice every time we speak to her like she she lights up with the biggest smiles!
Hanging out in her floor gym thing.
Having a snack in the car.
Walking on the beach with her cousin Penelope.  They were holding hands!!!
I got the pictures from Imogen's birth a couple days ago.  I'll be sitting down and typing out my birth story and sharing a few photo's here some day soon.

Weenie roast

A couple weeks ago there was a break in the rain so once Dan got off work we all walked out to the island and had a little weenie roast.
 checking out bugs
19 weeks pregnant, Ruby 18 months
I forgot how over grown it gets with grass this time of year, our poor dog could barely follow us through it.
But he made it without having to be carried through it all.
Ruby ate rocks and sand while we waited for Dan to get the fire going.

The area where we normally set up camp was so beautifully over grown with lupine, it was so pretty!
Once we left the beach and came up to the fire and beautiful lupine Ruby's mood turned to this and lasted for the rest of the time we were there.  Thats why there is no more pictures, I had to hold her the rest of the time.

I'll be back sometime soon to upload updated pictures of Ruby's monthly's and weekly belly shots.

Ruby

Lately I have been lazy about uploading photos from my camera to my computer.  Well, yesterday I uploaded a bunch of photo's from earlier this month.  Instead of bombarding this post with a million cute pictures of Ruby and a bunch or gorgeous scenic photos I'll leave you with my favorite of the bunch.

the island

Last Friday Dan, Ruby and I went out to the island (we got married on) for the first time since last fall.
It was a beautiful evening to pack a dinner to enjoy around a fire.
The walk was soggy and slippery.
Ruby didn't like sitting on the ground at all.  I had to bribe her with goldfish and hummus.
She managed to smear the hummus all over her face, her jacket, the blanket and me!
Dan built and stoked the fire, we ate and enjoyed the quiet surroundings and day dreamed about owning similar property!

Ruby was thoroughly entertained by Jack wanting to lick the hummus off of her!

Once the sun started to set it got pretty chilly so we headed back to the car.

 Ahh, the sunset was gorgeous!

Sunshine

It has been sunny this past week which is so awesome.  I am so ready for spring and better weather to come.
Yesterday after Dan got home from work we packed up some sandwiches and walked over to the pond near our house.  We picked a bench in the sunshine and enjoyed our light dinner.
It was a little chilly out but you could still feel the warm sun on your skin.

The walk home ended with Jack in the stroller and Ruby being carried.

as of late..

The weather was pretty crumby the last couple of weeks and Ruby and I came down with the flu and then a cold.  So we have been spending lots of time inside, nothing too exciting around these parts.
A while ago I rearranged the living room to incorporate a cabinet for Ruby's toys and an area for playing.  She loves it, everyday she crawls over to it and pulls the toys she wants to play with out.  Sometimes she stands and pulls all the toys out just to watch and hear them hit to ground.  She gets a kick out of things falling to the floor.
Her most recent favorite toys is a set of nesting cups.  She loves taking them apart and putting them back inside each other.  Sometimes she tries to stick the bigger one inside the smaller one and when it doesn't work she gets frustrated.  Its pretty funny seeing her get all frazzled.
Lately I have noticed her developing a curiosity for drawing!  One of these days I should get her a magnetic drawing board, I think she'd love it.
Since the sun was out today Ruby took a stroller nap!
