Statement of Faith

 Statement of Faith

About the Bible
We believe that Christianity is based on the Bible alone and that it is the complete guidebook for our faith. We believe that all Scripture, both the New and Old Testament is: God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and that the Bible is the supreme authority in faith and life.

About our God
We believe that our God  is the one true God. We believe that God is three in one: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

About God the Father
We believe that God is the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth and that He is the sustainer of life. We believe that He is perfect in holiness, infinite in power and all-knowing and that He is just, loving and merciful. We are thankful that He hears us when we come to him in prayer, that He answers our prayers, and that he saves us from death; all those who come to Him though His son Jesus Christ.

About Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus is the son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believed that he became man, walked the earth, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross as the living sacrifice for our sins. We believe that he rose again on the third day, revealed himself to man, and later ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father. We believe that he will return to earth as He has promised. We believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes to the Father but through him. (John 14:6) We believe that if you reject the Son, you reject the Father as well.

About the Holy Spirit
We believe that we (Christians) have been given the Holy Spirit to conform us, comfort us and guide us.

About Mankind/Sin/Salvation
We believe that mankind was created by God and in the image of God. We believe that man chose to disobey God in the Garden of Eden, and by doing so, allowed our sin to cause separation from a Holy God. We believe that all men have a sin-problem and fall short of the Glory of God. We do not believe that men are innately good, but rather that we are wretched and poor, and in desperate need of a Savior, and that Jesus is the only One who can rescue us from our sin. We feel that if we believe in our hearts that Jesus is God and confess with our mouths that he was raised from the dead, then we will be saved. We believe that men are saved by Christ alone and that those who choose to reject the free gift of salvation will spend eternity in separation from God, in hell.

About Loving Others
We believe we should love others like it is our job! This means loving the lost, the lonely, the poor, the churched, the un-churched, the de-churched, and the sinner (as in, all mankind!) We believe in the old saying "hate the sin, LOVE the sinner."
